Ivey Eye Institute

The Ivey Eye Institute is the main referral centre for eye disease in Western Ontario and is committed to excellence in patient care, education and research. To fulfill that commitment, the Institute needed a web site that was accessible, intuitive, and informative for both patients and physicians.

The site features an intuitive layout presenting the most pertinent information for patients and the centre's doctors. Side columns highlight upcoming events and the latest news and introduce physicians with profile photos and links to biographies.

Organized and secure

The site features a listing of all physicians with the ability to filter by name and specialty. Comprehensive information for patients is organized and easily accessible, while administrative and staff documents are secured in a password-protected area, requiring an authenticated login to view.

Quick and easy updating

The Ivey Eye Institute wanted the ability to maintain the site's content granted to its doctors and secretaries - all who have limited time to learn a complicated computer system, let alone code.

My customized content management system, Admin Area, was the ideal solution allowing the quick and easy updating of content. Authorized users could make updates without knowing any code (such as HTML) or having advanced computer knowledge.

The institute is regularly posting schedules, news articles, staff updates and much more all on their own time and their own computers.
